First-person short story about a young guy living on the road who has decided to head for Las Vegas. Some older men give him advice and supply him with necessities. The story is only one page long but gives a sense of the narrator's life and humanity without being preachy or political. "Never once did they ask to hear my story or wonder why a young man was out on the road. It was a matter of respect, a man's past was his own."
